Thousands of Chinese immigrant workers in the 1800s sacrificed their lives blasting & chiseling their way through these rocks to build a railway that was only commercially viable for decades. Strangely their real legacy will be having built one of BCs finest tourist trails, the Kettle Valley Railway trails, something that will survive centuries.
