If Care-Share-Learn-Inspire is the motto for CSLI, then Uniting the World (UTW) is Caring side. We all seek our own way to make a difference in the world, ours happens to be “Uniting the World through English”
At our English school CSLI, our aim is to enrich the lives of those who study, work and play with us: emotionally (you feel it), intellectually (you get it) and spiritually (you live it). Our UTW Vision is for every student who successfully studies at CSLI our purpose is to enhance the lives of 100 others worldwide through our charity & educational projects. In addition to fund raising by students and staff, 10% of all CSLI profits are donated to UTW projects.
CSLI (Canadian as a Second Language Institute) was founded by Lori-Ann & Lawrence Keenan 20 years ago and operated on Robson Street in Vancouver before buying and relocating to its current home in Yaletown in downtown, near BC Stadium & the Canada Line. In that time, CSLI has developed a reputation as one of Vancouver’s finest English schools, known for innovation in learning. With success came the responsibility to ‘give back’ and CSLI through UTW, has been actively involved in local community support and international disaster relief in many countries, some where their students come from.
Shortly after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, CSLI partnered with Rose Charities Canada to provide emergency relief mission on the east coast of Sri Lanka. Since then CSLI has remained actively involved with Rose Charities in the town of Kalmunai supporting local communities with education development. You can read about this journey in the some the projects on this site, and how thousands of lives have been positively affected.
